About the position

The Manager II, Technical Project Management role at Walmart involves overseeing the development and performance of project managers, ensuring adherence to project management methodologies, and managing complex eCommerce projects. The position requires mentoring, monitoring project progress, and providing status reports to stakeholders. The manager will also coordinate geographically distributed teams and third-party vendors, driving projects through their lifecycle to successful completion while managing budgets and risks.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and develop project managers to ensure alignment with PMO standards.
  • Monitor program and individual project progress, providing periodic status reports to stakeholders.
  • Develop and improve project management practices based on Walmart Global eCommerce methodologies.
  • Manage geographically distributed teams and third-party vendors, ensuring effective communication and delivery of functionality.
  • Drive multiple complex eCommerce projects through their lifecycle phases, serving as project team lead.
  • Manage project budgets and develop schedules to track milestones.
  • Execute plans for managing risks and provide updates on project changes to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate production issue resolution and interpret data for guiding teams towards solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of experience in technical program management; OR Master's degree plus 2 years of experience.
  • Experience with SQL/PL SQL for data analysis and comparison reports.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data quality rules and frameworks using tools like Collibra.
  • Proficiency in designing and developing data quality and KPI dashboards using Tableau and Power BI.
  • Experience in data assessment and profiling to ensure data fitness for purpose.
  • Ability to maintain data quality metrics and perform continuous issue management in Collibra or Jira.
  • Experience in creating and managing data dictionaries and business glossaries in Collibra.
  • Knowledge of Data Governance strategy using DAMA principles.
  • Experience in establishing best practice processes for master data management (MDM).
  • Proficiency in creating ad hoc reports using SQL/PLSQL.
  • Experience in analyzing data structures and performing data mappings between systems.
  • Knowledge of developing ETL strategies for data migration.
  • Experience in Agile environments and using ticketing tools like JIRA and ServiceNow.
