About the position

The Manager III, Customer/Field Service Engineer (M3) is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships within the semiconductor manufacturing sector. This role involves managing and directing customer engineers, overseeing financial forecasts, and ensuring effective service delivery. The manager will also be the primary interface with product divisions and will play a key role in account planning and system installations.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains customer relationships with all relevant individuals in the district.
  • Performs regular customer visits.
  • Manages, coaches, and directs all customer engineers in the district.
  • Responsible for salary planning, career planning, and corrective actions as necessary.
  • Establishes objectives and conducts performance appraisals.
  • Gives formal updates to all employees regarding business, new hires, and new products.
  • Initiates necessary reports for the business.
  • Acts as the prime interface with Product Divisions for tech support, training, spares, and reliability.
  • Monitors the CSD Award Program and quarterly results.
  • Oversees the mentor program for new engineers.
  • Executes escalation procedures as needed.
  • Responsible for account planning with the District Sales Engineer.
  • Provides support plans for system sales to CSD Management, Sales, and Field Engineering.
  • Responsible for financial forecasting for the district and ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Manages system installation processes, including planning and reporting.
  • Oversees the RMA procedure and measures engineer effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 4-7 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing and wafer fab equipment.
  • Solid understanding of operational and service experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Ability to analyze situations and data to make informed decisions.
  • Strong leadership skills to provide direction according to established policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for gaining cooperation and conducting presentations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct.
  • Familiarity with financial forecasting and cost efficiency measures.
