About the position

As the primary Special Markets contact for select publishing imprints, the Imprint Sales Manager acts as a liaison between sales and publishing to position titles, identify priorities, maximize sales, and surface trends, opportunities, and account updates. This role is crucial in ensuring that the sales strategies align with the publishing goals and that the needs of the Special Markets are effectively communicated and met. The Imprint Sales Manager also serves as the department representative at launches, sales conferences, marketing, editorial, and other publisher meetings, playing a key role in the overall sales strategy and execution. In this position, you will partner with publishers to set priorities for the channel, report on sales trends, and provide account feedback. You will advocate for Special Markets' sales needs in publishing team meetings and communicate publisher priorities while creating sales strategies in partnership with Special Markets representatives and department channel heads. Additionally, you will explore sales analytics and consumer insights to provide representatives with sales strategies and opportunities for growth across our entire list of titles. Collaboration with other Imprint Sales Managers will be essential to highlight key categories and themes across publishing groups. You will also organize and frame titles for Special Markets' twice-yearly sales conferences, create sales reports and marketplace updates for publishers, and coordinate inventory needs, marketing and publicity requests, and other approvals with publishers.
