The Manager, Inbound Operations at DigiKey is responsible for overseeing and developing a team of employees in the inbound operations department. This role focuses on ensuring that business objectives align with the receiving strategy and policies, while also coaching and mentoring staff to achieve departmental goals. The manager will work closely with warehouse management and other functions to optimize operations and maintain effective communication within the organization.

  • Manage a group of employees, primarily at seasoned/professional levels.
  • Develop team members through strategic delegation.
  • Accountable for team performance based on departmental strategy and goals.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the PDC warehouse management team and supporting functions.
  • Review, evaluate, develop, and implement operational functions to meet business needs.
  • Ensure accurate receiving and proper storage of parts based on individual criteria.
  • Develop and administer plans and procedures for company personnel, adapting to resource and operational challenges.
  • Oversee planning and organization of department activities and participate in developing departmental goals and objectives.
  • Lead, plan, and organize department staff meetings, providing business and team updates.
  • Evaluate reports and results in relation to established goals, recommending new approaches for improvements.
  • Build key partnerships within the organization to ensure understanding of business strategy and impact.
  • Evaluate workforce needs and coordinate hiring processes.
  • Act as a change agent to gain consensus and influence action.
  • Identify opportunities for team development to meet industry and corporate standards.
  • Monitor performance dashboards and reports, proposing recommendations for resolution.
  • Provide direction and guidance to employees, managing issues appropriately.
  • Oversee mentorship through effective training, coaching, and team building.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance dashboards, determining root causes of issues.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional committees and task forces.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to enhance the inbound process.
  • Review and optimize the truck schedule to meet business goals.
  • Demonstrate strong presentation skills for various audiences, including executive management.
  • Understand and analyze reports, making confident recommendations.
  • Participate as a member of the DigiKey Management Team to meet departmental goals.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of people leadership experience.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • 2-year degree in Operations, Business Administration, or similar area of study or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 4 years of Digi-Key and/or industry experience in Order Fulfillment.
  • Experience with Workday.
  • Familiarity with Manhattan.
  • Familiarity with BI tools and dashboards.
