About the position

The Manager of Indirect Operations at Spray Products Corporation will report directly to the Director of Warehouse and Logistics. This role is pivotal in leading the Indirect Operations for the region, encompassing all aspects of Warehouse, Transportation, Inventory, and indirect operations. The individual will be responsible for directing, managing, and coordinating these operations while leading a team of front-line leaders in a fast-paced environment. The position requires effective communication and collaboration across various departments, including Supply Chain, Operations, Customer Service, Systems, Sales, Customers, and Vendors. The Manager will ensure safe operations within their area of responsibility and guarantee compliance with business and customer/vendor contract requirements. They will maximize operational performance through the creation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves executing the business's operational concepts through effective organization and communication, as well as working cross-functionally to resolve issues and ensure business continuity. The Manager will also ensure that the team has the necessary tools to meet business requirements and will collaborate with vendors to address business challenges. In addition to these responsibilities, the Manager will oversee daily and weekly workload planning to align with business objectives, manage compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, and identify improvement opportunities within the carrier base. They will be accountable for the accuracy, efficiency, and overall effectiveness of inbound, outbound, and inventory operations, including managing Inventory Control Processes and the Cycle Count Program. The Manager will coordinate between planning, production, and shipping to ensure operational alignment and will serve as a technical content expert, building organizational sustainability of process improvement knowledge through training and implementation of efficient business processes. They will also lead and manage physical inventories and work on special projects as directed, all while ensuring adherence to company policies and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Indirect Operations for the region, managing Warehouse, Transportation, Inventory, and indirect operations.
  • Direct and coordinate all aspects of operations while leading a team of front-line leaders.
  • Ensure safe operations and compliance within the area of responsibility.
  • Administer and enforce customer/vendor contract requirements.
  • Maximize operational performance through KPI creation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Execute the business's operational concepts through effective organization and communication.
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve issues and ensure business continuity.
  • Ensure the team has the necessary tools to execute business requirements.
  • Collaborate with vendors to address business challenges.
  • Communicate and escalate business challenges to supervisors effectively.
  • Drive business initiatives through active leadership.
  • Manage daily/weekly workload planning to meet business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT requirements.
  • Manage carrier base for improvement opportunities.
  • Accountable for inbound, outbound, and inventory operations for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee Inventory Control Processes and Cycle Count Program, leading 3rd party audits.
  • Coordinate between planning, production, and shipping for operational alignment.
  • Ensure timely and efficient receipt, storage, movement, shipping, and distribution of products, parts, or supplies.
  • Serve as a technical content expert and build sustainability of process improvement knowledge through training and implementation.
  • Lead and manage physical inventories and work on special projects as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, inventory, manufacturing, or a combination of these fields.
  • Experience in warehouse, transportation, and manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to work autonomously in an ambiguous environment and provide solutions to business problems.
  • Functional knowledge of global and domestic supply chain concepts.
  • Strong inventory acumen and experience managing cycle count programs and physical inventories.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent analytical skills and time management abilities to manage various priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing scheduling/planning and production/warehousing operations.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with ERP systems.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines with high accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
