About the position

The IS Manager role at Maine Medical Center is responsible for leading a team of technical resources and IS Supervisors within a complex technical or business support environment. This position involves managing budgets, performance, and results for a medium-sized team or multiple small teams, while adapting departmental plans to meet operational challenges. The IS Manager provides technical guidance, ensures adherence to operating standards, and addresses issues that impact beyond their team, all while maintaining a focus on customer service and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technical resources and/or IS Supervisors.
  • Manage the budget, performance, and results of a medium-sized team or multiple small teams.
  • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and customers.
  • Define team operating standards and ensure essential procedures are followed.
  • Oversee project management, resource management, and performance management.
  • Monitor service levels and ensure compliance with operational standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 to 3 years of prior management experience or experience in a highly collaborative role.
  • More than five years' experience in a progressive technical environment.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Experience with process/workflow analysis, design, and implementation.
  • Ability to structure organization for success with clear role definitions.
  • Strong facilitation and collaboration skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and knowledge of quality and project management tools.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate the quality of work performed by systems analysts.
