About the position
The IS Manager role at MaineHealth Corporate is responsible for leading a team of technical resources and IS Supervisors within a large, complex technical or business support environment. This position involves managing budgets, performance, and results for a medium-sized team or multiple small teams, while adapting departmental plans to meet operational challenges. The IS Manager provides technical guidance, ensures adherence to operating standards, and addresses issues that impact beyond their team. Extensive knowledge in project management, resource management, and customer service is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of technical resources and/or IS Supervisors.
- Manage departmental budgets and monitor performance results.
- Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
- Provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and customers.
- Define team operating standards and ensure essential procedures are followed.
- Oversee project management and service level management (24X7 in some cases).
- Conduct process/workflow analysis, design, and implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2 to 3 years of prior management experience or experience in a highly collaborative role.
- More than five years' experience in a progressive technical environment.
- Strong project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience with process/workflow analysis, design, and implementation.
- Ability to structure organization for success with clear role definitions.
- Strong facilitation and collaboration skills.
- Outstanding organizational skills with knowledge of quality and project management tools.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clinical, technical, and administrative staff.
- Analytical skills to oversee the work of systems analysts and technical resources.
- Demonstrated change management skills.
