Come join our team and help us make a positive impact on the world. In this role, you will manage and lead the Engineering Staff in supporting various corporate-level vendor-supplied software tools. You will supervise a team that provides 24x7 incident support for IT-related issues, ensuring minimal impact on business operations. Additionally, you will lead quarterly SOX/PCI audit functions to ensure compliance with governmental regulations pertaining to Financial Systems. Your responsibilities will include providing onsite (non-remote) supervision from Monday to Friday to maintain operational excellence, overseeing the review, approval, and monitoring of changes to software packages, and supporting software upgrades from the initial planning stage through to project completion. You will also review software contracts/licensing and manage the hiring process for contract employees as needed to support software packages. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and external support teams will be crucial, as will collaborating with cross-functional teams to align IT strategies with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the Engineering Staff in supporting various corporate-level vendor-supplied software tools.
  • Supervise a team providing 24x7 incident support for IT-related issues, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.
  • Lead quarterly SOX/PCI audit functions to ensure compliance with governmental regulations pertaining to Financial Systems.
  • Provide onsite (non-remote) supervision from Monday to Friday to maintain operational excellence.
  • Oversee the review, approval, and monitoring of changes to software packages.
  • Support software upgrades from the initial planning stage, including funding and contracting, through to project completion.
  • Review software contracts/licensing and manage the hiring process for contract employees as needed to support software packages.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and external support teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT strategies with business objectives.
  • Direct, coordinate, and evaluate staff work to ensure technical discipline is providing all users with prompt and accurate services.
  • Identify and lead functional teams to solve technical, operational, and organizational issues.
  • Partner with various functional teams across the IT departments to support strategic enterprise vision and design.
  • Manage and prioritize the work of the Coverage team in functional areas.
  • Participate in problem management processes to determine root cause of failures and improve performance and reliability of systems and networks.
  • Support functional teams to ensure storage capability of specific computing platforms, network engineering, and storage management is established and monitored.
  • Ensure operational processes are clearly communicated for implementation.
  • Monitor and stay abreast of industry trends and anticipate future direction for system platforms.
  • Accountable for administrative management of IT professionals, either as direct reports or sourced - HR administration, Salary administration, Time Reporting, etc.
  • Define, prioritize, allocate resources, track, and provide status reporting of work assignments, projects, programs.
  • Provide information and periodic updates to support departmental IT performance metrics, monthly project status reporting, and quarterly resource planning review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or business equivalent.
  • 5 years of applicable experience in the design/administration/support of four or more platforms; 3-5 years equivalent in department experience in the above related fields.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of z/OS host systems (operating/Integration/architecture) and distributed systems, supporting both platforms with scheduling monitoring and management.
  • Understanding of server and desktop-based technology, utilizing network systems related to enterprise view.
  • Previous airline experience is ideal.
