About the position

The Manager, Inside Sales at Cox Business is responsible for leading an inside sales team to achieve sales goals while fostering a professional sales culture. This role involves hiring, training, and coaching sales staff, ensuring adherence to corporate sales strategies, and managing performance to optimize customer satisfaction and revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a professional sales culture and serves as a role model for the sales team.
  • Hires and builds a sales team capable of achieving sales and retention goals.
  • Coaches and manages the performance of inside sales and/or retention sales staff.
  • Ensures sales representatives use the IMPACT Sales approach to uncover customer needs.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on customer sales and handles escalated issues.
  • Collaborates with the CB Marketing Manager to align sales and marketing objectives.
  • Facilitates strategic planning to maximize market share and revenue.
  • Sets sales goals and metrics for inside sales representatives based on corporate goals.
  • Develops territory structures for geographical and/or vertical markets.
  • Manages sales forecasts and revenue targets while maintaining profitability.
  • Communicates customer concerns and sales opportunities within the sales team and across systems.
  • Leads sales team meetings to coordinate efforts and communicate changes.
  • Works with the Manager of Outside Sales to ensure effective lead management.
  • Maintains relationships with other departments to ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Reviews and approves sales presentations and reports developed by the team.
  • Prepares expense reports and controls expenses while maximizing revenue.
  • Ensures timely updates of customer information by direct reports.
  • Attends training to stay current on technical information regarding products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in a management or lead role.
  • Previous experience with business-to-business sales.
  • 6 months work experience using Windows-based PCs and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent relationship-building and sales skills, adaptability, and business acumen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a management role leading sales results.
  • Telecommunication sales experience.
  • Call center sales supervisory or management experience.
  • Knowledge of the local market.
