About the position

The Lead Services Inside Sales position at Vertiv involves overseeing all aspects of the assigned sales functions within the Inside Sales team. This role is crucial for driving business growth and generating incremental revenue for a designated group. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactive business development, engaging prospects, and providing essential communication to the executive management team. The position requires a strong focus on training, coaching, and mentoring sales representatives, as well as monitoring and reporting on sales metrics. Additionally, the role includes coordinating lead efforts between Sales and Marketing to ensure a seamless integrated sales model. In this position, the individual will manage, motivate, and develop the sales representatives, providing coaching on the selling process and pipeline development. They will be tasked with creating new leads to drive incremental revenue and motivating the team to meet and exceed their goals. Implementing best practices in sales functions and assisting in defining strategies to achieve key sales KPIs such as quotas and new business will be essential. The candidate will also manage the sales pipeline to ensure performance targets are met and will work closely with Marketing to maintain a steady stream of qualified leads. The role requires providing timely and relevant performance feedback to the team, tracking and reporting on metrics, and ensuring team responsiveness for reactive sales support. The candidate will directly participate in the sales cycle for key deals and accounts, and will be involved in formal proposals for requested products or solutions. A thorough understanding of the company's products and services, along with the ability to communicate their features and benefits effectively, is necessary. The candidate will also be responsible for generating, updating, and tracking CRM opportunities for Inside Sales Representatives to ensure proactive pipeline management. This position is based in Westerville, Ohio, and requires a full-time in-office commitment. The successful candidate will be expected to embrace Vertiv's Core Principles and contribute to the company's mission of delivering critical infrastructure technologies for vital applications in data centers and commercial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, motivate, and develop sales representatives.
  • Provide coaching around selling process and pipeline development.
  • Coach direct reports in creating new leads to bring in incremental revenue.
  • Motivate team to meet goals and achieve assigned quotas.
  • Implement sales function best practices and assist in defining strategies to fulfill key sales KPIs.
  • Participate in the development of key strategies for improvement and appropriate training programs.
  • Manage sales pipeline to ensure attainment of performance targets for assigned team.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of sales programs to drive incremental revenue.
  • Coordinate inside sales activities with field sales, marketing, and management.
  • Provide timely and relevant performance feedback and track metrics for the team.
  • Manage team responsiveness for reactive sales support and participate in key sales cycles.
  • Understand and communicate company product features and benefits to customers.
  • Generate, update, and track CRM opportunities for proactive pipeline management.
  • Re-direct calls to other departments as appropriate.
  • Perform other sales-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales leadership experience preferably in a technology industry.
  • 5+ years of Inside Sales experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office; Oracle and CPQ experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data center technology preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field.
