About the position

The Manager of Institutional Research at El Paso Community College is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and maintaining the District's Institutional Research Information Systems and Records. This role includes managing faculty student performance appraisal technical support and overseeing the installation of computers and data systems for Institutional Research. The position requires in-person work on campus and involves direct supervision of staff, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of institutional research data, and assisting various departments with report generation and training.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement, and maintain the District's Institutional Research Information Systems and related systems.
  • Analyze and define user computer and program needs.
  • Design new reports or modify existing reports for regulatory and government mandated reports.
  • Collaborate with department managers to design personnel-related reports.
  • Develop, recommend, and evaluate short and long-term technology goals and objectives.
  • Analyze and design departmental hardware requirements and ensure implementation of approved plans.
  • Manage the District's Institutional Research Records System, including documentation processing.
  • Assist other departments in report generation and statistical information.
  • Develop and finalize data for State and Federal reports.
  • Administer faculty performance evaluation records system.
  • Identify, develop, and conduct individualized training for staff.
  • Perform direct supervision of staff, including work coordination and performance management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience developing, recommending, and evaluating technology goals and objectives.
  • Extensive analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience working with statistics, reports, and grant proposal training.
  • Experience supervising, training, and managing personnel.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience identifying, developing, and conducting individualized training.
  • Detail-oriented with effective time-management and planning skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, and team-building skills.
  • Proficient in personal computer skills and various software applications.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
