About the position

The Manager, Integration and Test for Lunar Permanence at Blue Origin is responsible for overseeing a team of Lunar Integration and Test Engineers, leading the design and implementation of tests for Lunar Lander spacecraft. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure safe and repeatable space flight, while also managing the professional development of team members. The position involves collaboration with various engineering teams and may require travel for testing at remote sites.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Lunar Integration and Test Engineers in Florida or Huntsville.
  • Lead test design and implementation for Lunar Lander spacecraft.
  • Coordinate engineering support across integrated product teams and system-level test engineers.
  • Recruit, hire, and mentor a diverse team of engineers.
  • Oversee the professional development and career guidance of team members.
  • Collaborate with design and systems engineers to plan tests for vehicle subsystems.
  • Develop test procedures and prioritize safety in all testing activities.

Requirements

  • 2+ years managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups with responsibility for career management of employees.
  • 6+ years of experience in at least one specialty area applicable to space flight.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary development and verification tests, including managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Demonstrated leadership in establishing a high-performing safety culture.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A B.S. degree in an engineering field, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with verification, integration, and test of orbital vehicles or human-rated spacecraft.
  • Demonstrated drive to identify and address errors at their source.
  • Demonstrated efficiency in implementing continuous improvement for processes, methods, and practices.
  • Familiar with agile project management.
  • Experience with space vehicle design development and test.
