About the position
The Manager, Internal Audit at KPMG will lead and execute internal audit engagements and advisory services for clients in the financial services industry. This role emphasizes collaboration, adaptability, and professional development within a team-driven culture. The position involves mentoring staff, managing client relationships, and contributing to the development of audit plans and reports, while also identifying performance improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Drive and lead the day-to-day execution of Advisory Engagements for clients within the financial services industry.
- Design and develop risk assessments, annual audit plans, audit programs, working papers, and internal audit reports.
- Serve as a coach and mentor, providing on-the-job training for staff and team members.
- Identify and communicate performance improvement opportunities to client personnel and senior management.
- Develop and maintain positive, productive relationships with clients and project teams.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience in assurance, controls, or corporate compliance-related experience, including consulting, auditing, and risk management.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; CPA, CIA, or CISA preferred.
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to use data effectively.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SOX, and risk management frameworks.
- Previous experience leading teams and managing projects.
Nice-to-haves
- Understanding of the Asset Management business and fiduciary concepts.
- Exposure to Capital Markets/Investment Banking businesses and regulatory reporting processes.
