About the position

At ADS, we are committed to innovation and sustainability, and we are looking for a Manager of International Accounting to join our corporate Finance Team in Hilliard, Ohio. This role is pivotal in managing the accounting and reporting functions for our International Segment, ensuring compliance with SOX regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with both the Ohio-based corporate accounting team and local international accounting teams, providing essential financial guidance and insights to support our global operations. The Manager of International Accounting will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial results and forecasts for multiple international operations. This includes ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger through thorough review and reconciliation processes, as well as investigating any unreconciled amounts. The role also involves assisting in budgeting and forecasting, performing monthly account reconciliations, and preparing or reviewing journal entries as necessary. Collaboration is key in this position, as the manager will work across various business functions, including finance, sales, operations, and IT, to provide insights and support for decision-making processes. Additionally, the manager will support the completion of statutory audits for various international entities and ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across different levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a background in international business, with experience in multi-currency environments, and will be proficient in both English and Spanish. Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze and interpret financial results and forecasts of multiple international operations, providing key business and financial guidance to the organization.
  • Ensure accuracy of General ledger through review, reconciliation and investigation of unreconciled amounts.
  • Assist in the completion of budgeting and forecasting.
  • Perform / review monthly account reconciliations, investigate unreconciled balances or variances between general ledger and various source documents.
  • Prepare / review monthly journal entries as needed.
  • Collaborate across assorted business functions (finance, accounting, sales, operations, IT, HR, Investor Relations, etc.) providing insights with ad-hoc analysis.
  • Support monthly and quarterly business review presentations with insights to the international operations.
  • Support analysis and decision making with respect to currency risk management.
  • Support in the completion of statutory audits for various international entities.
  • Collaborate with international finance teams to address issues and enhance the financial closing process and timing.
  • Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation and providing recommendations as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 - 7+ years practical work experience.
  • International business background with multi-national and multi-currency experience is preferred.
  • Professional working proficiency in English (writing, reading and speaking) required.
  • Professional working proficiency in Spanish (writing, reading and speaking) is a plus.
  • Strong technical skills including knowledge of GAAP & IFRS.
  • Understanding of transactions and reporting in multi-currencies.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
  • Ability to understand issues, demonstrate resourcefulness and pro-actively resolve problems and manage multiple projects in a timely manner.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills to research and resolve inquiries and respond in a timely manner.
  • Able to handle confidential information in a mature manner.
  • Solid organizational skills: task prioritization and effective time management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence individuals in various functional areas and different levels of the organization.
  • Mid- to advanced PC skills using Outlook, Word, Excel (ability to perform pivots, V-lookups and other functions with Excel), PowerPoint.
