About the position

The Manager, Inventory Control at HD Supply is responsible for overseeing the inventory management operations at the Mt. Creek facility in Dallas, Texas. This role involves leading a team of inventory control specialists to manage a significant inventory valued at over $40 million. Key responsibilities include conducting cycle counts, optimizing pick paths, ensuring bin and part accuracy, and managing returns. The position requires a strong focus on employee engagement and effective management of high SKU counts in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory by reducing exposure to excess stock, dead stock, and write downs.
• Identify slow or non-moving products and develop solutions.
• Manage vendor relations and the vendor return process.
• Oversee the inventory control team, including hiring, training, and performance appraisals.
• Train associates on inventory-related systems and provide support for inventory issues.
• Analyze trends and report on excess and dead stock to the field.
• Update inventory lists and manage physical inventory counts.
• Support the purchasing group.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with inventory management.
• 4+ years of experience directly managing inventory associates with a focus on employee engagement.
• Experience in a high SKU count, high velocity inventory environment.
• Management experience with high dollar inventory.
• Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of the financial impact of inventory.
• Ability to manage between 20-30K SKUs valued at $40+ million.
• Experience with SAP EWM or similar ERP systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel for reporting.
