About the position

The Investment Finance team at Athene is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager to oversee investment reporting and disclosures. This role involves preparing quarterly and annual financial reports, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and Statutory regulations. The Manager will also lead a team, drive transformation in investment reporting capabilities, and foster relationships across various business areas.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for investment reporting on a GAAP and Statutory basis
• Prepare quarterly and annual 10Q/10K and MD&A investment disclosures
• Assist with SEC reporting requirements and respond to Investor/Analyst questions
• Support the financial analysis of operating results, balance sheets, and other key performance indicators
• Maintain and update process documentation and support audit requests to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Support new assumed reinsurance initiatives and reporting considerations for strategic transactions
• Lead/Drive transformation within the Investment Finance area enhancing investment reporting capabilities
• Builds and fosters close relationships with Apollo, Investment Accounting, Financial Reporting, and IT business areas
• Develop and lead a team of professionals by setting expectations, mentoring and coaching, driving results, sharing strategic direction, collaborating and communicating effectively

Requirements

• 5+ years directly relatable technical experience
• 2+ years of direct or indirect team leadership experience
• CPA, MBA, or CFA a plus
• Proficiency in Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of investment types and related reporting preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory financial accounting regulations a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
