About the position

The Manager, ISP (Inside Plant) at Spectrum is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the Inside Plant operations, including the management of staff involved in the reception and distribution of transport programming through coaxial cable and fiber optic technologies. This role involves ensuring compliance with corporate standards and FCC regulations, managing critical infrastructure design and installation, and fostering a high-performance culture within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all associated Inside Plant activities.
  • Oversee staff responsible for the reception and distribution of off-air transport programming.
  • Manage Critical Infrastructure design and installation, including Headend, Hub, Colocations, and Optical Transport Network facilities.
  • Provide direction on day-to-day activities and manage on-call rotation as necessary.
  • Responsible for employee lifecycle and performance management of staff.
  • Assist in capital and expense forecasting processes.
  • Support Enterprise end user turn up and activations.
  • Develop an effective Inside Plant Operations team and assist them in skill development.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate TQA standards and FCC regulations.
  • Establish positive employee relations through effective communication and support.
  • Participate in preparing and executing capex/opex forecasting.
  • Notify senior management of activities and issues, and handle difficult issues.
  • Set priorities for leads and review performance of staff.
  • Maintain logs, records, and documentation as per company and FCC requirements.
  • Support and upgrade critical infrastructure hardware, including power systems and HVAC systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of engineering or electronics work experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of project management experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to use hand tools and weight-bearing equipment safely.
  • Ability to accurately measure distances and read blueprints.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum two (2) years of management or leadership experience.
  • Desirable: CCNA, CCDA certifications.
  • Knowledge of company products and services.
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code.
  • In-depth understanding of Optical designs (DWDM) and IP networking.
