About the position

The Manager IT Digital Booking at JetBlue Airways Corporation is a pivotal role that leads a team of product and project professionals dedicated to enhancing the digital booking experience for customers. The Digital Booking team is responsible for the design and development of the booking flow, which is a significant revenue driver for JetBlue. As such, the Manager must be enthusiastic about engaging with customers and stakeholders to create a world-class booking experience that meets the needs of the business and its customers. In this role, the Manager will oversee the establishment and tracking of key product metrics and KPIs/OKRs, ensuring that the Digital Booking product meets its performance targets. The Manager will also manage partnerships to develop and deliver a comprehensive product strategy, while maintaining commercial relationships that directly impact the Digital Booking product. This includes developing and reporting on financial and resource plans, acting as the escalation point for operational support, and ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The Manager will play a crucial role in mentoring team members, fostering their growth and engagement, and ensuring that the team is aligned with the broader objectives of the organization. The position requires a proactive approach to leadership, with a focus on modern product and project management principles. The Manager will collaborate with other IT Managers to drive efficiencies and ensure that product and service delivery is accountable and meets the expectations of the business units. This role is critical in shaping the future of JetBlue's digital offerings and ensuring that the company remains competitive in the travel industry.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, coaches and develops a team of crewmembers focused on modern Product and Project management principles.
  • Functions as the point of contact for all strategic and tactical solutions for the Digital Booking product.
  • Establishes, tracks and improves key product metrics and KPI/OKRs for the portfolio of products in their purview.
  • Manages partnerships to develop and deliver a Product strategy for the Digital Booking and other relevant applications.
  • Manages the commercial relationships where Digital Booking drives direct and indirect impact.
  • Develops, maintains and reports a financial and resource plan for their area of responsibility.
  • Acts as the escalation point for operational support to assigned portfolio applications with around the clock accessibility.
  • Partners with Strategic Sourcing organization to negotiate Business Partner contracts and service level agreements which align with business unit's requirements and expectations.
  • Ensures that JetBlue IT and business standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with company, audit, security and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures continued accountability for product and services delivery within assigned business units and across IT.
  • Partners with other IT Managers to ensure alignment and drive efficiencies.
  • Takes a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in an IT/Business liaison role managing relationships with business customers.
  • Three (3) years' experience managing large portfolios or operating budgets and delivering large scale IT projects (Agile and general Product methodologies).
  • Three (3) years' experience in software development and/or production support services.
  • Three (3) years' experience with portfolio management, project delivery, and business partner management.
  • Available for moderate overnight travel (up to 35%).
  • In possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States.
  • Able to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response on short notice.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience managing a budget.
  • Experience managing a full project or initiative, including presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Thorough knowledge of business function and thorough knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies.
  • Exposure to JetBlue's IT disciplines and interdependencies and business units and how their needs drive IT strategy.
