About the position

The Manager of IT Organizational Change and Workforce Management at CenterPoint Energy is responsible for leading the change management strategy and talent management initiatives within the IT department. This role focuses on driving organizational change, supporting agile transformation, and enhancing employee engagement through targeted development programs. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to implement change management strategies that align with the company's goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of change management strategies and plans for IT projects and operations.
  • Define change management governance and standards for the IT project portfolio.
  • Execute new project rollouts by preparing and supporting individuals and teams in adapting to organizational change.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business outcomes through organizational change.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to define change objectives and design roadmaps that align with organizational goals.
  • Design and manage Communities of Practice to support the Agile Platform Operating Model.
  • Implement a robust communications plan to provide transparency and guidance during the change process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify change impacts and ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Identify potential resistance to change and develop actionable plans to address and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance understanding and adoption of agile principles across the organization.
  • Assess workforce gaps and create targeted training programs to develop IT talent.
  • Work with HR and IT leadership to implement career development paths and succession planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in organizational development, Information Technology, Business Management, or related field.
  • Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Agile Coach, Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, Change Management, ProSci, ADDIE/SAM, PMP).
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in IT change management or talent management, with 2-3 years focused on agile transformation.
  • Experience leading large-scale IT change initiatives in complex organizations.
  • Proven experience in leading change across multiple teams or departments.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or Lean.

  • Experience in digital transformation initiatives.
