About the position

The IT Project and Planning Manager at UCF is responsible for overseeing the Project Management Office (PMO) processes, ensuring successful project delivery through collaboration with stakeholders. This role involves managing documentation, driving process improvements, and facilitating communication across teams to align projects with the university's strategic goals. The manager will track key performance indicators throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring transparency and accountability in project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of PMO processes, ensuring project requests are reviewed by appropriate stakeholders.
  • Liaison between leadership, business stakeholders, technical resources, and external vendors to document project scope and requirements.
  • Maintain documentation of PMO processes, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, project managers, and executive sponsors.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams to ensure project success.
  • Work on process improvement efforts for PMO processes, suggesting enhancements for efficiency.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive initiatives for process automation and digital transformation within the PMO.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards/reports for leadership to track key performance indicators of projects.
  • Manage enterprise-level IT projects from initiation to closure, developing project plans and coordinating teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in project management, particularly in IT environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certification.
  • Experience running agile projects or teams.
  • Experience coaching students or interns.
  • Experience leading large scale enterprise projects and teams.
  • Experience with governance and portfolio management process implementation.
