About the position

The Manager, IT Quality Engineering (Automation) at Chipotle is responsible for developing and implementing automated testing strategies within Agile teams. This role focuses on enhancing the quality of customer-facing solutions and mentoring team members in best practices for automated testing. The position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure the reliability and performance of IT products.

Responsibilities

• Directly contribute to Chipotle's success across customer-facing solutions both online and in-restaurant.
• Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality and testing best practices.
• Guide and mentor direct reports on automated testing strategies and solutions.
• Partner with QE leaders to develop automated test engineering strategies and frameworks.
• Drive scalable design patterns and implementations for reuse across the organization.
• Participate in evaluations and gap/overlap analysis of tools and current solutions.
• Create and enhance report dashboards for the Quality Engineering team.
• Develop future leaders on the Quality Engineering team and embrace servant leadership.
• Collaborate with leaders in software development, product management, and other teams to define performance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from a 4-year college or university preferred.
• 5+ years of working experience in a senior SDET (or similar) role.
• 1-3 years of relevant management experience.
• Proven track record of implementing automated testing strategies for complex systems.
• Strong desire to build and lead teams with a culture of problem solving and collaboration.
• Proficiency with cloud technologies (AWS or Azure).
• Experience with observability solutions like Splunk, DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, SQL, Powershell.
• Experience with modern test automation solutions like Playwright, Cypress, wdio, Postman.
• Experience with test automation SaaS providers like Saucelabs, Browserstack.
• Experience with Azure or AWS DevOps, Agile process improvement, CI/CD pipeline management.
