About the position

The IT Security Manager at Semtech is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and enhancing the cybersecurity posture of the organization. This position involves the implementation and management of a comprehensive cybersecurity program that integrates various tools, techniques, and processes based on industry best practices. The IT Security Manager will engage in critical activities such as incident detection and response, compliance audits, and technical penetration testing, ensuring that the company adheres to established cybersecurity standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST 800. In this role, the IT Security Manager will provide leadership and guidance on cybersecurity matters, conducting assessments against common industry frameworks to maintain the company's certification status. The manager will also be responsible for managing tools that store and analyze cybersecurity events, evaluating and recommending new solutions to enhance the organization's security posture. A key aspect of this position is to promote cybersecurity practices across the company, coordinating robust training programs for employees to foster a culture of security awareness. The IT Security Manager will develop strong working relationships with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive coverage of cybersecurity initiatives and meaningful engagement in the program. Additionally, the role includes defining and maintaining security reporting and dashboards targeted at senior management, providing insights into the organization's cybersecurity landscape. The manager will lead a team of IT Security professionals, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary resources and support to excel in their roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance on cybersecurity matters
  • Perform assessments against common industry frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST 800, etc.) and maintain current certification status
  • Manage available tools for storing and analyzing cybersecurity events / landscapes
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement new solutions that enhance security posture
  • Evangelize cybersecurity practices throughout the company and coordinate robust employee training
  • Develop a working relationship with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive coverage and meaningful engagement in the program
  • Define and maintain security reporting and dashboards targeted at senior management
  • Manage a team of 2+ IT Security professionals

Requirements

  • BA or BS Degree (Computer Science is preferred, but not required)
  • 7+ years of experience in a professional work environment, or equivalent education and experience
  • CISSP preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Project management skills
