About the position

The Oklahoma Restaurant Association is seeking a full-time Job Costing Accountant to manage and analyze costs associated with specific jobs, projects, or contracts. This role involves tracking project expenditures, ensuring accuracy in job cost reporting, preparing financial summaries, and providing insights to improve profitability and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a background in nonprofit accounting and experience with QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

  • Track and record job-specific costs including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses.
  • Monitor and reconcile job cost accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Manage job costing processes for various programs and events.
  • Review and analyze project budgets, actuals, and variances, providing timely reports to project managers and leadership.
  • Analyze and report on financial data related to costs and expenditures.
  • Maintain job cost ledger and ensure alignment with the general ledger.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations.
  • Work with team to summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Guide accounting team by coordinating activities and answering questions.
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and generally accepted accounting procedures.
  • Participate in financial standards setting and forecast process.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Work with and provide needed information to CPA.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of equivalent experience in accounting, preferably within a nonprofit environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong proficiency in QuickBooks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Grant writing experience is a plus.

  • Salary range: $55,000 - $75,000, depending on qualifications.
