As a Manager, Land Acquisition within Renewable Development at Invenergy, you will play a pivotal role in supervising a team of external land agents. Your primary responsibilities will include planning, controlling, and directing various real estate activities essential for renewable site development. This encompasses site location and acquisition, right-of-way negotiation, building and land acquisition and disposition, space leasing, property management, and maintenance of properties. The position is based in Chicago, and you will coordinate closely with the development lead to ensure that the land campaign aligns with the development needs of the market. In this role, you will lead land acquisition programs for Invenergy's expanding portfolio of large-scale wind, solar, and storage projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of executing successful land campaigns across diverse markets and with various types of landowners. You will work in close collaboration with the development team to ensure that the land strategy supports the overall development plan, while also managing external land consultants, legal counsel, and internal land teams to ensure efficient execution of land campaigns. Your responsibilities will also include fostering positive relationships between Invenergy Development and landowner communities, overseeing the entire process of land origination, negotiation, and closing of land agreements. You will need to resourcefully engage with landowners through various means, including cold calling, research, and in-person visits. Additionally, you will work with the legal team to establish form agreements and assess deviations from these contracts. A key aspect of your role will be to create a comprehensive onboarding and training program for land agents, as well as establishing performance standards for external land agents. You will also assist in reviewing and resolving title matters critical for project financing, and coordinate efforts among landowners, legal counsel, and other stakeholders. Conducting large landowner meetings and presentations will also be part of your responsibilities.
