About the position

The Manager, Land Acquisition at Invenergy LLC is responsible for overseeing a team of external land agents to manage real estate activities related to renewable site development. This role involves planning, controlling, and directing land acquisition efforts, ensuring alignment with project development needs, and maintaining positive relationships with landowner communities. The position requires significant travel and collaboration with various stakeholders to support the company's renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead land acquisition programs for Invenergy's portfolio of large scale wind, solar, and storage projects.
  • Execute successful land campaigns in various markets with different types of landowners.
  • Coordinate with development teams to align land strategy with overall project plans.
  • Implement land acquisition campaigns in close coordination with project development teams.
  • Manage external land consultants, legal counsel, and internal land teams for efficient execution of land campaigns.
  • Ensure positive engagement between Invenergy Development and landowner communities.
  • Oversee land origination, negotiation, and closing of land agreements.
  • Identify ways to engage with landowners through various means such as cold calling and in-person visits.
  • Work with legal teams to establish agreements and assess deviations from contracts.
  • Create a land agent onboarding and training program for company-wide use.
  • Establish external land agent standards for performance evaluation.
  • Assist with title matters to support project financing, including mineral rights and liens.
  • Coordinate efforts among landowners, legal counsel, and other project stakeholders.
  • Conduct large landowner meetings and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years of experience in renewable energy/utilities sector, land development, or real estate sectors.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time to project sites.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship.
