About the position

The Manager of Tax Operations is responsible for overseeing tax compliance and reporting for various foreign jurisdictions, ensuring timely preparation and filing of tax returns. This role involves collaboration with finance teams across Latin America and Puerto Rico, managing income tax accounting processes, and supporting transfer pricing documentation. The position requires strong technical skills in international tax and a willingness to learn about LATAM tax environments.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the timely preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for various foreign jurisdictions.
  • Managing all income tax accounting processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual income tax provisions for foreign entities.
  • Supporting transfer pricing documentation and analyzing legal entity profitability.
  • Monitoring international income tax developments and advising management on their potential impacts on foreign entities.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of tax returns and provisions, along with maintaining supporting documentation for tax positions under review.
  • Collaborating with company personnel, third-party advisors, and tax authorities on compliance and planning issues.
  • Seeking to streamline compliance processes and improve efficiency through automation.
  • Identifying potential tax compliance issues, conducting research, and making recommendations for resolution.
  • Gaining an understanding of the organization's business to assist in problem-solving.
  • Supporting the Senior Manager in optimizing tax processes and establishing compliance procedures.
  • Building strong networks across global tax, finance, customs, treasury, and legal departments.
  • Staying updated on changes in tax laws that may affect the company's operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in public accounting or within a multinational organization.
  • Strong technical skills in accounting and international tax return preparation and review.
  • Knowledge of Puerto Rico and Latin American tax environments is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Team-oriented with excellent collaborative skills and the ability to communicate confidently with minimal supervision.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience navigating the complexities of cross-border teams and engagements.
  • Proficient in OneSource Provision (TaxStream), SharePoint, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications, as well as SAP.
