About the position

The Manager, Learning position at Celanese International Corporation is responsible for leading global learning initiatives and technical training programs. This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance the organization's learning approach, ensuring alignment with business needs, and implementing effective training solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing strategic learning plans and possess excellent communication skills to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with various functions to assess learning needs and create a playbook for conducting learning needs assessments.
  • Advise stakeholders to ensure learning initiatives align with business needs, with clear objectives and outcomes.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to gain knowledge of business-related procedures and provide effective learning consultation.
  • Develop a best practice toolkit for program design and source external programs as needed.
  • Manage vendor agreements and monitor the quality of programs provided.
  • Oversee the learning management system and establish comprehensive learning governance documentation.
  • Drive key global learning and development initiatives, including program management and facilitation support.
  • Develop an assessment strategy for major program investments to determine impact and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • BS degree in HR or related field.
  • 5 years proven success as a Learning & Development Training Specialist or similar role.
  • Direct experience with designing, implementing, and managing large-scale learning initiatives.
  • Direct experience with Learning Management Systems, preferably Success Factors.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Course Authoring Software (Camtasia, Storyline, Captivate).

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Confidence in communicating and influencing across all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and teaching methods to engage adult learners.
