About the position

The Manager of Logistics and Purchasing at MTU Maintenance Dallas, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the daily logistics operations within the company. This role involves managing purchasing, incoming and outgoing goods, and ensuring efficient supply chain processes. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and negotiate with suppliers, while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and compliance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor the processes and procedures of the shipping, receiving, and dispatch section.
  • Establish an active inventory management system for proactive coverage of production material requirements.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of parts purchasing and parts room operatives.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of the logistics coordinator.
  • Ensure procurement of new and used parts for engine parts on the market.
  • Contribute toward continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and refining of the export compliance program.
  • Define local and global strategic supplier strategies for material in accordance with program and customer requirements.
  • Secure the management of negotiations and global contracts with MRO locations at top management level.
  • Conduct permanent, active observation of OEMs and competitors in the MRO market and derive measures to adjust purchasing strategies.
  • Carry out price and value analyses of suppliers regarding commercial, technical, and qualitative requirements.
  • Promote the active selection of alternative suppliers and substitution of parts and materials.
  • Identify new suppliers and transition them to contractual relationships.
  • Protect agile supply chain performance by regularly reviewing supplier performance against key performance indicators.
  • Support communication during the annual forecast of quantities relating to material planning in the supplier network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in materials management, logistics, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Several years of experience in the specified discipline.
  • Experience in establishing organizations/teams and leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze data and identify trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and suppliers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in negotiation and purchasing (1 year preferred).
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, practices, and standards related to materials management and logistics operations.
