About the position

The Logistics Manager at Van Drunen Farms is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound freight operations across North America. This role involves leading logistics teams to ensure the safe and timely movement of raw materials and finished goods while driving continuous improvement in safety, customer service, efficiency, and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all inbound and outbound freight for North America.
  • Lead and engage logistics teams to safely plan, move, and ship materials on schedule.
  • Participate in developing and executing supply strategy and goals for the company.
  • Manage the dry and frozen logistics teams.
  • Identify, select, negotiate, and manage carriers.
  • Establish goals and strategies for North American logistics to optimize supply chain performance.
  • Support the team with transportation challenges and prioritize conflicting needs.
  • Work with the Director of Warehousing to develop operating budgets and forecasts.
  • Advocate for the best shipping solutions for customers and the company.
  • Develop strategies to improve current operations and integrate continuous improvement culture.
  • Create a positive working environment and foster employee growth and development.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct duties in an environmentally responsible manner.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in warehousing, distribution, logistics management, or supply chain operations roles, including freight management.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or a similar field preferred.
  • Proven success in leading supply chain operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with excellent communication abilities.
  • Critical thinking skills to analyze complex decisions.
  • Good working knowledge of transportation equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.

  • Experience in financial analysis related to logistics operations.
  • Familiarity with safety and quality leadership metrics.
