About the position

The Manager of Logistics Planning at Scout Motors is responsible for overseeing the logistics planning operations for the production of electric vehicles. This role involves building and managing a logistics planning team, implementing logistics processes, and ensuring the efficient supply of materials to the vehicle plant. The position requires strategic planning, monitoring of logistical parameters, and collaboration with various stakeholders to optimize operations and support new vehicle projects.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage the Logistics Planning Team.
  • Plan and implement logistics processes, structures, and equipment for the vehicle plant.
  • Control and monitor logistical parameters and resources for new vehicle projects.
  • Ensure procurement of logistics equipment and maintenance concepts for new projects.
  • Tender logistical services in-house and inbound, including ramp-up support.
  • Develop and implement a holistic automation strategy for in-house logistics.
  • Plan, control, and monitor all inbound material flows for optimization.
  • Ensure sustainable material transport from suppliers to the plant.
  • Collaborate and represent Scout's interests in transport network planning.
  • Recruit and qualify personnel based on ramp-up plans.
  • Implement KPIs for process control and coordinate problem-solving activities.
  • Analyze and authorize the department budget, ensuring its fulfillment.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience in automotive production and logistics.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience building and managing teams.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of production environments and complex IT systems like SAP.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive experience in managing operational teams and external logistic providers.
  • Detailed knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO, VDA, etc.) and related process requirements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
