Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Final Assembly Supervisor 2 based out of our Sunnyvale, CA campus. Northrop Grumman Marines Systems specializes in the development, manufacture assembly and testing of propulsion, and power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines. The Final Assembly Supervisor 2 will supervise the factory hourly assembly mechanics, electricians and production support team in the assembly, test and shipment of high quality, low volume, large electro-mechanical fabricated structures with complex controls for the Marine Propulsion and Power Generation SBU. This position will also interface with Sr. Operations Leadership, a variety of engineering disciplines, and end customers for the products their team produces and delivers. Additional responsibilities include ensuring all members of the team are adequately trained to accomplish assigned tasks efficiently and effectively and will lead the implementation of Lean Principles and Continuous improvement efforts in their assigned areas.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise factory hourly assembly mechanics, electricians, and production support team.
  • Oversee the assembly, testing, and shipment of high-quality, low-volume, large electro-mechanical fabricated structures.
  • Interface with Sr. Operations Leadership and various engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure team members are adequately trained for their tasks.
  • Lead the implementation of Lean Principles and Continuous Improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 9 years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 7 years of experience; PhD with 4 years of experience (Note: 13 total years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated Manufacturing Operations management experience managing critical production hardware (SQCDM).
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Firm understanding of the fundamentals of MRP.
  • Demonstrated EVMS experience and proficiency at CAM functions.
  • Government contracting and fixed price production experience.
  • BA/BS degree.
  • US Naval experience in the operation or maintenance of Marine Machinery.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
