About the position

The Manager of Maintenance Planning at Frontier Airlines is responsible for overseeing the efficient planning of various maintenance activities, including RON (Remain Overnight) Maintenance, Line Maintenance, and Special Maintenance Visits. This role involves developing and modifying maintenance schedules, ensuring effective communication with multiple departments, and managing a planning team to achieve operational goals. The position plays a critical role in maintaining the airline's commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering on the company's mission of providing low fares done right.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning of RON Maintenance, Line Maintenance, and Special Maintenance Visits.
  • Review and modify long-term and short-term aircraft maintenance schedules.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Line Maintenance, Heavy Maintenance, Inspection, Engineering, Materials, and Purchasing.
  • Manage a planning team and implement daily and long-term goals.
  • Oversee the assignment of Minimum Equipment List (MEL) items and Other Deferred Maintenance (ODM) items.
  • Coordinate with Material Services to ensure timely arrival of required parts for maintenance.
  • Administer departmental self-audits and manage aircraft mean hours in the Frontier Maintenance Information System (FMIS).
  • Assist with budget preparations for the Line Planning department.
  • Ensure proper training and qualification of department personnel.

Requirements

  • FAA A&P license or equivalent aircraft maintenance experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of Heavy Maintenance and/or Line Maintenance or Planning experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience or demonstrated skills in this area.
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business administration or similar discipline preferred.
  • Experience with maintenance planning software or software related to planning/scheduling maintenance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and FMIS (TRAX or similar Maintenance Information System).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the airline industry.
  • Knowledge of maintenance operations and technical knowledge of aircraft and maintenance programs.
