About the position
The Manager of Maintenance oversees the activities and staff involved in the efficient maintenance of equipment at Waste Management. This role is crucial for ensuring that maintenance initiatives are effectively planned, budgeted, and implemented, while promoting a safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA requirements. The manager is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising maintenance staff, as well as monitoring various metrics related to maintenance operations.
Responsibilities
- Plan, budget, staff, and implement all maintenance initiatives and programs.
- Promote a safe work environment in compliance with Corporate and OSHA requirements.
- Ensure that equipment is repaired and returned to service in a safe and timely manner.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Plan, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance activities.
- Ensure optimal levels of staffing & overtime ratios, PMI scheduling, Warranty Claims Systems (WCS), spare equipment ratio, and parts/inventory management.
- Hire, train, supervise, reward, and discipline maintenance staff according to established policies.
- Communicate and interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Evaluate and monitor the budget and provide input for capital expenditures and improvements.
- Maintain records of meter readings, maintenance activities, parts inventory, parts and labor costs, work orders, licenses, and warranties according to established processes.
- Generate and disseminate daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or High School Diploma/GED with four (4) years of relevant work experience.
- Seven (7) years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).
