About the position

As the leader in transit technology, Clever Devices aims to make significant contributions to global mobility. The company is seeking a Manager for the MAIOR NA Deployment team, who will be responsible for directing dedicated project resources and coordinating with cross-departmental teams to execute project and product needs effectively. This role involves overseeing the deployment of scheduling projects assigned to the team and supporting scheduling initiatives in conjunction with other projects. The Manager will coordinate and communicate with an international development team to ensure that customer expectations are met and that success is achieved. The ideal candidate for this position should possess extensive leadership experience and a deep technical understanding of information technology applications within the transit sector, particularly in Scheduling and Operations systems. The role requires expertise in project management, quality assurance, testing methodologies, and project completion. The Manager will also support business development, project management, product management, software development, and staff development. This position is characterized as a player/coach role, where the candidate will lead complex projects while ensuring a high level of service quality from the team. The right candidate should exhibit a strong entrepreneurial spirit, capable of setting targets for project completion and collaborating with a dynamic team to achieve those goals. The Manager will be responsible for managing the Scheduling portfolio of projects, services, and customers in a post-deployment support status, working closely with various departments to ensure successful project execution. Establishing and maintaining effective communication with customer stakeholders is crucial, as is managing the technology and quality assurance aspects of assigned projects. The Manager will also oversee the financial performance of the project portfolio and ensure that team resources remain on schedule and within scope. Additionally, the role may involve coordinating proposal preparation, participating in contract negotiations, and adhering to project management standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the Scheduling portfolio of projects, services, and customers in post-deployment support status
  • Working closely with cross-functional departments (Deployment, Engineering, Design, Installation, and Field Service) to ensure successful execution of projects
  • Establishing a working relationship with the customer's stakeholders and maintaining good communication correspondence with all customers
  • Managing applicable technology and quality assurance of assigned projects
  • Managing financial schedule performance of the portfolio
  • Managing the time and priority of the team resources responsible for project deployments to remain on schedule and within scope
  • Overseeing management of full project lifecycles and ensuring each aspect of the projects are completed as per customer expectations
  • Coordinating with Business Development and Account Managers to further sales opportunities
  • Coordinating proposal preparation, including standards of work and specifications, estimation of product and service costs
  • Participating in negotiation and administration of contracts

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a Project Manager in a technical or engineering environment
  • Prior experience in a management or leadership role
  • Project Management Professional (PMP certification)
  • Strategic business focus and understanding; customer-focused perspective
  • History of developing and maintaining effective business relationships with clients and peers
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project
  • Ability to learn new software programs as needed
  • Long-term focus and ability to make strategic recommendations and decisions surrounding difficult, complex and critical issues
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills; ability to build an open environment for resolving conflicts regarding project priorities and funding decisions
  • High level understanding of technical and integration concepts related to the industry and products/services of the company
  • Strong team building and employee development mentality
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communications, presentation and persuasive skills
  • Fluent in English
