About the position

The Manager Manufacturing Engineering 2 role at Northrop Grumman involves leading a team of engineers in the manufacturing engineering organization, focusing on the production of F35 Air Vehicle variants. This position requires overseeing manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing budgets while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Design the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.
  • Specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency and investigate problems to ensure product quality.
  • Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control and develop those techniques.
  • Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5 years of engineering experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing OR Master's Degree AND 3 years of engineering experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing.
  • 2 years of prior management/leadership experience in a related field.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required).

  • Knowledge of aircraft operations, maintenance, and aircraft scheduling
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft scheduling
  • Technical management experience with expertise in both manufacturing process development and production process engineering
  • Composite fabrication or assembly experience.
