About the position

The Manager of Manufacturing Engineering at WernerCo is a leadership role focused on driving innovation and operational excellence within the manufacturing sector. This position involves overseeing the engineering strategy, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and optimizing manufacturing processes to achieve best-in-class performance. The role requires collaboration with various teams to enhance productivity, manage capital investments, and develop the manufacturing engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, organize and develop the manufacturing engineering team.
  • Provide leadership to Safety and Environmental compliance requirements and performance management within the facility.
  • Optimize the performance of existing manufacturing processes and support Advanced Manufacturing Technology for new process development.
  • Implement plant-specific process technologies in support of New Product Development initiatives.
  • Drive improvements in productivity and product flow throughout the manufacturing process and material supply chain.
  • Lead cost reduction process and project teams.
  • Ensure process uniformity and accountability, implementing existing and new manufacturing procedures.
  • Provide technical leadership for plant-specific initiatives, implementing Lean/Demand Flow strategies.
  • Manage site manufacturing capacity planning activities and coordinate with operations and suppliers to address capacity shortfalls.
  • Create and manage the budget for operations capital spending.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of managerial experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing manufacturing and industrial engineering applications in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of project management experience with a focus on cross-functional approaches.
  • Change Management experience.
  • Experience managing plant Safety and Environmental programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Experience in Equipment & Facility Maintenance management.
  • Experience working in a Global environment.
  • 6-sigma formal training preferred, Black Belt preferred.
