As a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering at Anduril Industries, you will be at the forefront of transforming military capabilities through advanced technology. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and manage a manufacturing engineering team focused on a subset of Anduril's innovative products. This role is critical in driving process improvements, ensuring the highest quality of production, and supporting the development and implementation of new products. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing manufacturing processes, reducing costs, and increasing efficiencies on existing technologies while also developing new products and scaling them to full-scale production. In this position, you will lead the manufacturing engineering team by setting clear goals, providing direction, and evaluating performance across various products from initial prototyping through to large-scale production. You will be tasked with developing and executing strategic plans to enhance production capabilities, incorporating new technologies and methodologies. Additionally, you will own the documentation required for successfully manufacturing product group hardware at scale, including work instructions and inspection plans. Collaboration will be key in this role, as you will work closely with product development teams to ensure the manufacturability of new designs and facilitate a smooth transition from prototype to production. You will also assist in the selection, installation, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal integration into production lines. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement initiatives that result in cost reduction, quality enhancement, and throughput maximization. Furthermore, you will manage budgets and forecast future manufacturing needs, including personnel, equipment, and materials, while establishing robust training and documentation programs to enhance team skills and promote cross-functional knowledge sharing. Fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and accountability within the manufacturing engineering department will be essential. As the technical expert and point of contact for manufacturing engineering issues, you will provide guidance and support to resolve complex problems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches, from initial design through to full-scale production, and liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials while maintaining quality standards. Analyzing production metrics and performance data will help you identify trends and opportunities for improvement, ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements within the manufacturing process.
