About the position

The Manager of Marketing & Communications will oversee the Marketing Department for the Norfolk Tides, focusing on brand development, fan engagement, and driving ticket sales. This role involves managing both full-time and seasonal staff, developing marketing strategies, and ensuring synergy across various marketing platforms to enhance the overall fan experience during Tides games.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a 12-month marketing plan to meet organizational goals.
  • Create strategies to increase revenue from online and single-game ticket sales, merchandise, concessions, and non-baseball events.
  • Utilize data and analytics to enhance the fan experience.
  • Plan and create content for team social media accounts.
  • Manage the team's Google Analytics account and develop revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain and update content on the team website, including the FanCompass platform.
  • Grow and segment databases for email and text marketing.
  • Keep consistent records and reports on audience size and demographics of digital platforms.
  • Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of external marketing efforts across various media.
  • Manage fan interaction on social channels and live-streaming broadcasts.
  • Implement and oversee the execution of a survey platform.
  • Maintain a promotional calendar for internal communication and staff planning.
  • Champion the creation of a team podcast platform.
  • Stay current with changing technology and software programs.
  • Support and promote all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of three years full-time experience in sports, entertainment, advertising, media, marketing, or a related field in the sports industry.
  • Minimum of two years of data analytics experience.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Qualtrics is preferred.
  • Email marketing experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Elloqua is preferred.
  • Text marketing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work all home games.
