About the position

The Manager, Marketing at NBCUniversal will play a pivotal role in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, focusing on driving the long-range product strategy, brand management, and key marketing efforts across a diverse portfolio of games based on Universal's top franchises. This position is integral to the marketing team and will report directly to the Senior Director, Marketing & Community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in games marketing, entertainment brand marketing, and both digital and physical marketing strategy and execution. They will be expected to collaborate with various internal and external teams, ensuring effective cross-functional communication and workflow management. Direct experience in mobile and console/PC game marketing is highly desired, as the role requires a deep understanding of the gaming landscape and consumer behavior. In this role, the Manager will actively contribute to the overall product branding, positioning, and marketing/PR strategies for a portfolio of games that span a wide range of genres and platforms. Responsibilities will include leading the day-to-day marketing ideation, planning, and execution for select titles, partnering with theatrical brand, franchise, and international teams, and managing detailed timelines and workstreams to keep stakeholders accountable. The Manager will also work closely with product and communications partners to define marketing needs during game development and coordinate with internal partners such as Consumer Products, Retail Marketing, and Digital Distribution to maximize marketing impact through cross-promotional opportunities. Additionally, the Manager will cultivate relationships with digital gaming storefronts and distribution platforms, prepare marketing presentations and creative briefs, and collaborate on social media channel management. Staying abreast of industry trends and leveraging innovative marketing tactics will be crucial for driving successful campaigns. The role will also involve interaction with select Games Publishing and Development partners, ensuring alignment and execution of marketing strategies across the board.

Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to the overall product branding, positioning and Marketing/PR strategies against a portfolio of games with wide-ranging genres and platforms.
  • Lead the day-to-day marketing ideation, planning, and execution on select titles.
  • Partner with Theatrical Brand, Franchise, and international teams, as well as other internal stakeholders, to route marketing plans, assets, copy, activations, and other materials for feedback and approval.
  • Manage detailed timelines and workstreams while keeping cross functional stakeholders accountable.
  • Work with product and comms partners to clearly define marketing needs during game development.
  • Coordinate with internal partners including Consumer Products, Retail Marketing, Parks, Digital Distribution and more to maximize marketing impact and reach with cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Cultivate relationships, and identify and execute marketing activations, with digital gaming storefronts and distribution platforms.
  • Prepare marketing presentations, creative briefs, and campaign re-caps as needed.
  • Collaborate on social media channel set-up, management and platform partner relationships.
  • Keep up with industry trends and leverage innovative marketing tactics to drive successful campaigns.
  • Interact with select Games Publishing and Development partners on all of the above.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of marketing experience within video games, entertainment, or digital.
  • Experience in all major areas of games marketing, including online and offline, brand management and product marketing, search, CRM, social media and PR.
  • Strong expertise/understanding of games and games industry.
  • Solid project management skills to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously across internal functional groups and external partners/licensees.
  • Existing relationships with Games publishers a plus.
  • Keynote and Microsoft Office Suite experience are required.
