About the position

As the Manager - Marketing, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, executing, and measuring strategic marketing plans, demonstrating a clear understanding of people and how to build awareness about Wesco's products, services, and solutions to satisfy their needs. You should be comfortable with day-to-day marketing activities as well as contributing to the long-term strategy while focusing on meeting deadlines, being responsive to changing business needs, and managing and inspiring a team of motivated professionals. In this role, you will coordinate marketing activities for assigned strategic business units or areas, spanning customer engagement, sales enablement, market awareness, lead generation, and market intelligence. You will implement marketing plans and manage associated marketing activities, developing marketing campaigns in collaboration with other marketing and business leaders. This includes evaluating marketing plans and developing strategies to respond to changing market and competitive conditions. You will also be responsible for understanding and interpreting customer and sales data to identify opportunities in the market and drive sales growth. Your recommendations will be crucial for developing existing or related markets and expanding into new ones. Keeping informed of new marketing approaches and products, services, and solutions offered by competitors will be essential. You will utilize Wesco's project management system to ensure timely execution of projects and role clarity within the creative department, ensuring that scheduled programs are completed on time and on budget while communicating results, best practices, and successes. Ultimately, your contributions will drive the profitable growth of targeted businesses by consistently ensuring that marketing programs remain aligned with corporate, business unit, and strategic supplier partner priorities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - Marketing or Business Administration required; Masters' Degree - Business Administration, Marketing Communications, Advertising, or Marketing preferred
  • 7+ years experience in product or field marketing
  • 3+ years experience in strategic business planning
  • Experience in industrial/B2B marketing preferred; distribution experience a plus preferred
  • Industry knowledge, including suppliers, customers, and competitors preferred
  • Strong leadership track record - prior experience in managing teams
  • Experience in hiring, training, developing, managing, and appraising personnel preferred
  • Go-to-market strategy and implementation experience - creating and executing go-to-market plans for new product launches or updates
  • Product positioning and messaging experience - developing and editing the product's positioning, messaging, and value proposition
  • Market research and analysis experience - conducting market research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and trends
  • Strong creativity and entrepreneurial drive
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
