About the position

The Manager, Mobility Hub & Fleet Operations is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient execution of public road-testing efforts within the Austin terminal. This role involves managing personnel, resources, and budgets to support the autonomous vehicle initiatives of Volkswagen Group of America. The manager will ensure compliance with regulations, foster a positive team culture, and collaborate with various departments to achieve operational goals and enhance fleet management.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Austin fleet, facilities, and personnel for vehicle tests in support of ADMT's Autonomous Driving Program.
• Supervise and mentor a diverse staff of test drivers, trainers, service technicians, engineers, contractors, and interns.
• Plan, recruit, and retain talent to meet operational needs.
• Facilitate research, design, development, and engineering skill development for the team.
• Make decisions regarding asset management and personnel needs.
• Manage and prioritize all aspects of the vehicle fleet including deployment, configuration, maintenance, and service.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for facility and fleet operations.
• Coordinate with the Global ADMT team to plan activities and adopt best practices.
• Draft and deliver executive level reports to stakeholders.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement standard operating procedures.
• Develop strategies to achieve performance goals in alignment with ADMT strategy.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional work experience
• 5+ years of operational and people management experience
• Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred
• Valid Texas Driver's License
• Proven knowledge of DMV and DOT rules and regulations
• Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of vehicle systems
• Project management skills
• Asset management experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
