About the position

The Manager, NAM Clinical Application Consultants at Thermo Fisher Scientific is responsible for leading a field-based team focused on supporting the clinical testing market, particularly in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Diagnostics Informatics. This role involves collaboration with global teams to enhance customer satisfaction through effective implementation, training, and troubleshooting of Thermo Fisher's product portfolio. The manager will also develop strategies to address clinical market needs and drive revenue enhancement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Clinical Applications Consultants to ensure adherence to processes and policies set by leadership.
  • Provide primary support for clinical laboratories in implementation, training, validation, troubleshooting, and clinical solutions for Thermo Fisher Scientific/Ion Torrent products.
  • Enhance customer value and satisfaction by aligning product solutions with key customer initiatives and building relationships with decision-makers.
  • Analyze Ion Torrent data using Torrent Suite and Ion Reporter software packages for customer support.
  • Chair internal and external alignment calls to address customer updates and concerns.
  • Assist customers in designing and conducting experiments for product evaluations.
  • Provide initial training to customers at their laboratories and Thermo Fisher training locations.
  • Promote new clinical solutions at customer sites and during conferences/user meetings.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Account Managers to establish effective support strategies for customers.
  • Maintain structured communication with counterparts and summarize updates for senior management.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Life Sciences or MS degree; PhD preferred.
  • At least 4+ years of professional experience, with prior people leadership experience highly preferred.
  • Experience in NGS sequencing, Capillary Electrophoresis, qPCR, and RT-PCR.
  • Understanding of healthcare industry standards and guidelines.
  • Technical proficiency to assess customer clinical needs and implement training and experimental approaches.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience as an application specialist in NGS.
  • Medical background or laboratory experience, with Clinical Laboratory experience/MLT being a plus.
