About the position

The Manager - National Sales at The Venetian Las Vegas is responsible for developing and contracting business opportunities that align with the company's desired customer profile. This role is crucial in meeting and exceeding quotas and financial objectives set by management. The position requires a proactive approach to soliciting existing and prospective target accounts, qualifying leads within defined market segments, and closing contracts through effective negotiations. The manager will develop and maintain a robust account base that generates revenue for the company, ensuring timely follow-up and commitment fulfillment on assigned leads. In addition to sales responsibilities, the manager will implement comprehensive sales action plans that encompass various strategies, including telephone outreach, direct mail solicitation, alliance partnerships, social selling, and participation in tradeshows and related sales trips. The role demands effective positioning of the property's benefits, aligning unique insights with customer priorities to differentiate from competitors. The manager will also engage with customers to understand their business priorities and steer conversations towards favorable outcomes while maintaining the company's financial objectives. The position requires a deep understanding of current economic and industry trends, enabling the manager to identify new business opportunities within designated vertical markets. The manager must accurately forecast and report on the sales pipeline, engage with cross-functional teams to understand available products and services, and utilize CRM systems to document sales activities. Travel for sales calls, site inspections, and networking events is expected, along with the ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends. Safety and consistent attendance are essential functions of this role, along with adherence to the company's standards of conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Timely follow-up and qualification on assigned leads and follow through on commitments.
  • Implement sales action plans for the development of designated market segments.
  • Manage effectively within defined sales roles, internal sales processes, and procedures.
  • Position all the benefits of the property by aligning insights to customer key priorities.
  • Engage customers by linking their business priorities to the company's value proposition.
  • Become a subject matter expert on economic trends, industry trends, and potential new business opportunities.
  • Understand the customer buying process and identify key meeting influencers.
  • Accurately forecast and report sales pipeline.
  • Engage with cross-functional departmental leaders to understand available products and services.
  • Travel and participate in sales calls, site inspections, and networking events as needed.
  • Enter required data into the CRM system to document sales activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
  • 5 years of professional hotel sales experience at a luxury property.
  • 2 years of experience selling large complex group business.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and customer relations skills.
  • Contract negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Critical thinking and strong listening skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
