About the position

The Network/Systems Team Lead position is responsible for overseeing and mentoring a team of systems and networking professionals. This role involves managing the operational activities of the data, voice, and video network, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through effective maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting of client systems and networks. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, analyze network functions, and develop plans to enhance network performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and mentor a team of at least 5 people in systems and networking.
  • Provide maintenance, administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and servicing of systems and equipment.
  • Assess and prioritize tasks, projects, and demands to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Design, manage, and monitor operational activities of the data/voice/video network.
  • Analyze network functions and evaluate services provided; develop action plans and recommendations.
  • Provide technical leadership and assist in managing and supporting pod members.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure processes and procedures are up-to-date and functioning efficiently.
  • Monitor utilization trends, manage network performance, and assure maximum uptime.
  • Perform ongoing analysis, capacity planning, and technical tuning of network systems.
  • Design and monitor VMware infrastructure and unified communications systems.
  • Troubleshoot network issues to diagnose system problems and resolve them.
  • Install and configure software upgrades, file sharing, and domain security protocols.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of overall systems and networking experience.
  • Experience overseeing and mentoring a team of at least 5 people.
  • Experience with Fortinet firewall setup and administration.
  • Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco firewall setup and administration.
  • VPN setup and administration experience.
  • Dell & Cisco Switch Setup and Administration experience.
  • Knowledge of SolarWinds, PRTG, or Logic Monitor.
  • Experience with QoS, MPLS, VPLS, VLANS, Radius, BGP, OSPF, and TAGGING.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with peers and all levels of team members.
  • Ability to provide high-level customer service to clients.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
  • Current CCNP certification (other relevant certifications may be considered).
