About the position

The Manager of New Homes Field Operations at Sunrun is responsible for overseeing the execution of solar installations in new residential construction projects. This role involves collaborating with homebuilders, managing field operations, and ensuring high-quality execution of solar solutions. The position requires a proactive approach to communication and relationship-building with various stakeholders, including construction teams and branch members, to drive the success of the New Homes Program.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the subject matter expert for all New Homes field execution across your dedicated territory.
  • Help define, document and implement the New Homes Field Guide in cooperation with key Sunrun stakeholders.
  • Maintain high technician efficiency and quality across your area.
  • Work closely with Build Partners to ensure proper execution in line with the Sunrun Field Guide and Installation Manual.
  • Successfully launch new communities by attending Kick-off meetings, Precon walk-throughs and other key builder meetings.
  • Understand and address the builders' solar requirements and remain available to other trades as needed.
  • Advise builders and other trades on solar, addressing builder-specific requirements while staying within Sunrun's operational capabilities.
  • Communicate proactively and build lasting relationships with homebuilder field operations staff.
  • Set and own the installation schedule for each Sunrun-performed New Homes community.
  • Ensure 100% schedule accuracy and adherence.
  • Manage relationships with branch team members to ensure optimal field execution.
  • Train and motivate crews involved in New Homes operations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for New Homes related requirements and questions.
  • Ensure crew execution in the field, including random site visits for quality and safety checks.
  • Agree on installation targets with New Homes program management and develop an operations plan.
  • Implement the operations plan quickly and document all contacts and construction activities.
  • Manage the new vendor onboarding process for electrical and roofing subcontractors.
  • Coordinate closely with the assigned New Homes Account Manager and Program Manager.
  • Assign a dedicated lead installer for maintaining installation timelines.
  • Help set the strategic direction of Sunrun's New Homes field execution.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in operations or project management.
  • Strong understanding of new residential construction and solar integration into new build projects.
  • Knowledge of solar PV integration and installation practices.
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of projects.
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint.
