About the position

The Nursing Manager at Providence Alaska Medical Center is responsible for coordinating patient care delivery in a compassionate and ethical manner. This role requires independent judgment and accountability for clinical and operational issues within assigned units, ensuring high standards of care are met. The position is integral to fostering a culture of patient-focused care and supporting the mission of providing accessible healthcare to all, especially the vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate team in delivery of patient care according to recognized standards and care model.
  • Exercise independent judgment with 24-hour accountability for clinical and operational issues for assigned units.
  • Support and empower caregivers to deliver compassionate care.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Foster a culture of patient-focused, whole-person care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Certification in clinical specialty within 1 year of hire.
  • 3 years of recent management or supervisory experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree
  • 2 years of management experience in a similarly sized unit.
