About the position

The Manager, Digital Strategy role at National Grid is responsible for overseeing a team of Digital Business Strategists within the Digital Solutions team. This position focuses on supporting business and operations work streams in a multi-disciplinary digital product team structure, ensuring that products deliver the required capabilities within approved budgets and timelines. The role involves leading business capability assessments, constructing business cases, and participating in Agile sprints, while also serving as a liaison between the product line and the broader organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of Digital Business Strategists responsible for business and operations work streams.
  • Lead business capability assessment, design, alignment, and roadmapping for the product line with cross-functional teams.
  • Construct and oversee business cases, including value projections and detailed investment estimates.
  • Track objectives and key results to assess benefit realization of products.
  • Identify riskiest assumptions and support product teams in designing and executing experiments.
  • Challenge product-specific assumptions regarding feasibility, scalability, and business value.
  • Ensure teams deliver capabilities that align with approved business cases, within budgets and timelines.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for reporting to the Product Line Director and wider business.
  • Support business/operation work stream team, participating in Agile sprints during the full product roadmap.
  • Define future-state operations solutions, including current and future-state process documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of product management experience.
  • Experience leading complex product teams in a multi-squad product model.
  • Expertise in agile development methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and storytelling skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
