About the position

The Accounts Receivable Manager at TerrAscend is responsible for providing accounting leadership within the shared services accounting team. This role encompasses overseeing credit, customer onboarding, order processing, invoicing, cash collections, and related month-end accounting activities. The manager will ensure compliance with service level agreements, develop and monitor key performance indicators, and drive continuous improvement in processes while delivering excellent customer service. This position requires collaboration with various internal teams and is pivotal in managing the entire accounts receivable process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accounting leadership within shared services accounting including credit, customer onboarding, order processing, invoicing, and cash collections.
  • Oversee the performance outcomes of the Accounts Receivable team and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Develop, distribute, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Accounts Receivable team.
  • Lead and motivate the Accounts Receivable team, ensuring continuous improvement of processes.
  • Prepare and review appropriate ledger entries and accruals, ensuring completeness and accuracy of assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to design, document, implement, and monitor processes that establish internal controls and accountability.
  • Maintain effective internal controls and ensure Standard Operating Procedures are current and utilized.
  • Work closely with accounts payable and inventory management stakeholders regarding master data issues and cash processing.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested, responding timely to inquiries from customers.
  • Support quarter and year-end close processes, providing financial commentary and supporting schedules as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in business or accounting.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with corporate accounting experience preferred.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience, effectively managing and growing a team of professionals.
  • Intermediate knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal control, and Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
  • Experience or exposure to all areas of accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash/revenue, accruals, and reserves.
  • Understanding of inventory manufacturing processes, retail sales processes, and public company audit compliance.
  • Experience working in a highly computerized environment and processing financial transactions using an ERP system or accounting software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Epicor experience preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or retail accounting.
