About the position

The Manager of Budget, Financial Planning & Analysis at New York University will play a crucial role in the Tandon Planning and Budget Office, leading various financial planning activities. This position is responsible for conducting complex financial analyses, overseeing operating and designated accounts, and creating financial reports and dashboards to support Senior Leadership in decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead various planning activities within the Tandon Planning and Budget Office.
  • Conduct complex and interpretive financial analyses of periodic reports and special projects for Senior Leadership.
  • Oversee a portfolio of operating and designated accounts.
  • Create financial reports, model revenue, and perform pattern analysis and data mining.
  • Automate financial processes and build financial dashboards.
  • Forecast revenue and expenses, prepare profit and loss statements, and load budgets.
  • Prepare presentations for Senior Leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance/accounting or a related area.
  • 5+ years of work experience in finance/accounting or a related area.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Fluent with financial concepts and tools such as budgets and financial statements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in finance/accounting or a related area.
  • 5+ years of higher education experience, particularly in budget and finance planning and analysis.
  • Experience with Hyperion Planning, Tableau, and Workday.
