About the position

The Manager of Business Operations at Unistel Industries is responsible for overseeing sales and business functions within a Safe Quality Food (SQF) certified and FDA approved manufacturing environment. This role involves managing purchasing, order entry, and cost accounting to align with budgetary goals while promoting the Unistel mission. The manager will lead a team, identify new business opportunities, and ensure production needs are met effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities and potential customers to advance Unistel spice product sales.
  • Direct supervision of the senior buyer, order entry specialist, cost accountant, and business developer.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and onboarding of these positions.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Production to ensure adequate equipment and materials are available for production.
  • Become proficient in the order entry and shipping process, as well as purchasing details.
  • Oversee inventory controls using SAGE and run reports.
  • Monitor Business Development efforts and manage the CRM, passing potential customers to the Business Developer.
  • Facilitate the design and implementation of an annual sales plan in support of organizational strategy and objectives.
  • Conduct market analysis to ensure appropriate strategies for current and new opportunities.
  • Compile and analyze sales figures and prepare regular sales data reports for presentation to Leadership.
  • Become a subject matter expert on Unistel spice products and operations, keeping up to date with products and competitors.
  • Network with sales professionals in the spice or food industry.
  • Develop and maintain strong functional relationships with Procurement, Finance, Marketing, etc.
  • Participate in various Unistel meetings and committees as assigned.
  • Assist with production efforts as needed to meet production needs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in food sales and distribution.
  • Experience in food manufacturing and processing, preferably in the spice industry.
  • Sales CRM knowledge and experience with established software packages.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven sales track demonstrating ability to forecast and meet targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and resolve issues.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
